26.04.2012, Mr. H. To. Imam, honorable advisor of the Prime Minister, Relating to Public Administration, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh visited National Archives of Bangladesh. In the time of visit he has gone several sections of the National Archives of Bangladesh to see the work of this institution.

He shown keen interest to see the ICT section and the exhibition room where digitizing the document’s and displayed the rare ones. Director, National Archives of Bangladesh Mr. Wadudul Bari Chowdhury along with visited the mentioned section. Archives authority also given some important records scanned copy to the honorable Advisor. He was highly pleased to see the activities of the National Archives of Bangladesh. He also promised to do something to the National Archives of Bangladesh, like:-

i) To talk with the secretary of Public Administration to expanding manpower of this organization which already submitted by the Archives authority.

ii) To sent a letter to the entire secretary and the chief of the organization to preserve their records properly and send the old records to the National Archives after 25 five years to follow the Acts of the Governments.

iii) To talk with the country chief of the UNDP and UNICEF to allotted fund for better management of Archival materials & records.

iv) To take initiatives to declared National Archives as KPI.

He also welling to handed over some of his personal important documents to the National Archives for permanent preservation.

04-06-2012, honorable advisor of the Prime Minister, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh ask some information from the National Archives of Bangladesh regarding first Rules of Business, Establishment of the Planning Commission and some other important information. National Archives of Bangladesh copied that information from original ones and send to the honorable advisor.

Mrs. Suraiya Begum, Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, ask information from the National Archives of Bangladesh regarding our National Poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam, from his arrival to Bangladesh, rewarded by the “Ekushe Reward”, declared as a National poet and up to his death. National Archives of Bangladesh collect entire information from his collection and send to the honorable secretary.

10-06-2012, Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, honorable Minister, Ministry of Information and Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, officially opened the New National Archives building. Mr. Promod Mankin, honorable state Minister, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was also present their. In that opening ceremony secretary, chief of the institutions, high officials, journalist’s and distinguished were present that occasion.
